About us

After 12 years living on different sides of the world, sisters Victoria and Sally find themselves living at least on the same continent; Victoria outside Paris and Sally in London. In an ideal world they might be living in the same city working together on a business, pouring their passion into growing something from scratch….and then taking a long weekend to find some surf.

But of course life isn't always as you'd imagined it would be…..sometimes it's better, sometimes it's tougher, but on the whole, we've found, wherever you go and whatever you do, if you look for them you'll always find great people.  Bold, diffident, generous or self-effacing - the kind of people we've photographed and interviewed in this blog. They're people who you want to linger for just a few more minutes with over coffee; who give tangible advice on life or their livelihoods; who are super interesting to learn from. And they've all started from small beginnings.

So we started this blog to work on something fun together and to share stories of the people we meet and the places we go through our work and life.

After a decade living in Africa  as a journalist reporting from Sierra Leone, to Madagascar and Kenya for the BBC World Service, BBC Radio 4, Monocle and a host of other newspaper, magazine and online publications, Victoria headed off to South America, to the Paris of the South where she had worked and travelled in her teens (but this time with 3 kids in tow). In Buenos Aires she used her broadcasting, writing and photography to try and delve into the psyche of the Argentines and to celebrate their love of living for the day - no matter which direction the economy or interest rates may be heading. She’s now in the Paris of the North (France!) and rekindling her passions of writing, pictures and travel. You can read and listen to some of my work in my portfolio here, or click on the drop down menu above.

Now living in London, Sally has had what could be called an unconventional career. From marketing some of the world’s tastiest champagnes to plugging a pioneering spinal surgery technique in Sydney to setting up and running the UK office for a leading international business school, her career has taken her across continents and sat her down in front of fascinating, entrepreneurial people. In 2018, on a whim, she set off to the big apple on a 4 month flat swap entrusting her London apartment to Kelly, a born and bred New Yorker. From her Tribeca base Sally dived head first into New York life; in London Kelly did the same, and Sally is now writing a screenplay of their spontaneous “city swap”. Watch this space for more….
